Pregnancy Travel Tips

Traveling while pregnant requires some extra preparation. Whether you're going abroad or opting for a staycation, follow our travel tips that'll make your vacay prep a breeze.

1. Plan Ahead

The easiest way to reduce travel stress is to plan ahead! Make sure to make all your hotel, flight, rental car, etc. arrangements in advance. Make a list of everything you want to pack the week beforehand and gradually start packing to avoid rushing at the last minute (and potentially forgetting something). If you're choosing to fly, leave early and give yourself extra time to get to the airport in case of any traffic.

2. Wear Comfortable Shoes

You're pregnant, you're traveling, your feet are swollen, and you're probably tired. No matter how cute those shoes may be, if they're not comfortable go for a different, comfy pair. Your feet will thank you later!

3. Bring A Snack

You never know if your flight is going to get delayed or if you'll end up stick in bumper to bumper traffic. Keep a snack on hand to fight off hunger and keep your energy up. Snacks like granola bars, pretzels, or fresh fruit are great options. And don't forget to stay hydrated as well!

4. Stretch 

Whether you're traveling by plane, train, or car, make a point to frequently get up to stretch and move around. Not only will it re-energize you but it will also help to ward off blood clots, which pregnant women are more susceptible to.

5. Breathe

Most important of all, take a breather. Anytime you begin to feel yourself getting stressed take a moment to relax, breathe, and clear your mind. Don't worry, be happy!
